SAARC FELLOWSHIPS/SCHOLARSHIPS

INTRODUCTION

The University Grants Commission (UGC) invite applications from Indian nationals for the award of Fellowships and Scholarships in SAARC countries in specified areas of respective countries.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

An experienced scholar with published work of high quality holding permanent appointment in a university/college/higher education center in India. Scholarship: A scholar with first/high second class Bachelors/Master degree intending to pursue higher studies leading to Masters/Ph.D degree.

CAREER PROSPECTS

International travel by excursion/economy class is provided by the UGC; travel cost is reimbursed to the Institution forwarding the application of the scholar. Allowances & Other Benefits: Living expenses, tuition fee, course expenses, travel grant, etc., are as specific of the respective country. Application Procedure: Application in duplicate on prescribed format along with Photostat copies of degrees/certificates and list of publications duly sponsored by the employer should reach the UGC office by the prescribed date. The scholars not in employment may get the application forwarded from the Head of Institution last attended Selection: After preliminary selection by UGC, applications are forwarded to Ministry of External Affairs/SAARC secretariat who approach the receiving countries for final selection. Selected scholars are informed individually along with the terms and conditions of the fellowship/scholarship in the receiving countries at least two months prior to the belonging of the academic session.
